Privacy Policy

Smart Stream is an iOS and Android app and a companion website (collectively, the “Service”) operated by The Wardrakes Inc., doing business as Wardrake Studios (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what we collect, why, and who we share it with. We try to keep it short and honest. If something is unclear, email wardrakestudios@gmail.com.

Information we collect

• Email address. Provided when you sign in with Apple, Google, or an email link. We use it to identify your account and to contact you about purchases or service issues. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email,” we receive only the relay address Apple provides.
• Streaming-service preferences. The list of services you tell us you have (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) so we can filter results to titles you can actually watch.
• In-app activity. Your watchlist, favorites, watched-items list, and the natural-language search queries you submit to our AI. Stored so the app works across devices and so we can improve recommendations.
• Purchase records. Credit-pack purchases, including the transaction identifier from the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), or PayPal (web) and your credit-balance changes. We do not store your card number or other payment credentials — the payment processor handles that directly.

Information we do not collect

• Location data.
• Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
• Advertising identifiers (we don’t serve ads).
• Browsing history outside the app.

Third parties we use

The Service relies on the following providers. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Google — sign-in and, on Android, in-app purchases via Google Play. Your Google email is shared with us when you authenticate.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and, on iOS, in-app purchases via the App Store. Apple shares your email (or a private relay address) when you authenticate, and confirms your purchases to us without sharing your payment details.
• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Your account data is stored here.
• OpenRouter — AI search routing. Your natural-language search queries are sent to OpenRouter and an underlying language-model provider to generate recommendations. Queries are not linked to your email when sent upstream.
• The Movie Database (TMDB) — title metadata and posters. We query TMDB for movie/TV information; we do not send your account data to them.
• PayPal — credit-pack payments. PayPal handles all payment-credential collection and processing.
• Railway and Vercel — hosting providers for our backend and website respectively.

How we use your information

• To run the app: filtering recommendations to your services, syncing your lists across devices, and processing AI searches.
• To process and verify credit-pack purchases.
• To investigate bugs and abuse (e.g. queries that crash the backend).

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train any AI model.

Data retention

Account data persists until you delete your account. AI search query logs are kept for up to 90 days for operational debugging, then deleted. Purchase records are retained as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).

Your rights

• Access & deletion. Email wardrakestudios@gmail.com from the address tied to your account and we’ll provide a copy of your data or delete your account, typically within 30 days.
• EU/UK users (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, port, and delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Contact us at the address above.
• California users (CCPA). You have the same rights as above. We do not sell personal information.

Children

Smart Stream is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

Communications between the app, our backend, and our providers are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Account data is protected by row-level security policies on Supabase. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or who we share it with, we’ll bump the effective date above and post a notice on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
